This can range anywhere from someone who decides to open up a mom & pop discount store, or an inventor who develops and markets a piece of software for millions of dollars. Entrepreneurs are NOT employees. They do not work for others. They assume the risk as well as the rewards of a business venture. The risk factor is one of the top reasons why most people do not take the entrepreneurial path. They think that working for themselves is too risky. Most people are so attached to their weekly paycheck to take a real chance at anything else. But as they say, no risk, no reward. The steady paycheck may add some sense of security in your life, but it will not likely let you reach your full potential. Entrepreneurs on the other hand are not afraid of risk, and they are therefore the ones who get all of the fabulous rewards of working for themselves. This includes freedom, being able to do what they love, as well as earning vastly superior incomes and larger amounts of money that typical wage earners.
