What Causes the Wealth Gap?

What causes the wealth gap? The real cause exposed, and the myths revealed. Knowing the truth will enable you to prosper in any economic state.

What causes the wealth gap?

The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.

This is a statement that we have all undoubtedly heard sometime in our life. And if we look at the people around us, we can usually see that money truly does seem to flow easily to some, while it avoids others.

The wealth gap is always increasing. Those with a high net worth are generally increasing their worth year after year, while people on the opposite side of the coin seem to continue to struggle year after year, without ever making any real financial advancements.

So what causes the wealth gap, and how can you be sure that you are on the side that is constantly getting richer?

Everyone seems to have their own opinions about the cause of the wealth gap. Many people on the less fortunate side of the gap complain that they are stuck in poverty because the rich people are in some way hoarding all of the money. They think that greedy people have monopolized all of the money in the world and won’t let anyone else have any.

This is a false belief on many levels. For starters, there really is no limit to the amount of wealth that can be created, for wealth is simply a result of value being added into the world. And just because some people are enjoying fabulous wealth and abundance, it does not mean that it is harder for anyone else to do the same.

The real reason why some people get richer year after year and others continue to struggle is the attitudes that are held by each individual. The quality of your attention is what really determines what side of the spectrum you will fall on.

Where you place your attention, what thoughts you allow to reside in your mind, and the attitudes that you hold predominantly throughout your life, are the real causes of your financial experiences.

A positive attitude towards life, especially with any facet of life dealing with financial matters, results in what many people call the Wealth Consciousness. It is the state of mind that attracts wealth in ever growing abundance. Anyone with a wealth consciousness cannot help but to prosper, no matter what economic conditions are taking place around them.

The number of people who have cultivated the wealth consciousness is far outnumbered by those who have the Poverty Consciousness. As you may have guessed, a poverty conscious results when an individual has a negative attitude towards their financial situation as well as their life in general.

You cannot possibly think negatively towards getting rich and succeed financially. A negative attitude will cause you to miss opportunities, fail to take action when needed, create many unnecessary obstacles and challenges, and quit when things do not seem to be going right.

However, a positive attitude, the wealth consciousness that is so critical to living a prosperous life, puts your attention and therefore energy in much more useful places. This mindset will enable you to find opportunities to build wealth, have the courage to seize the opportunities when they arise, stay optimistic and therefore easily surmount obstacles, and have the faith needed to persist past the point where the majority quits.

If you can develop a highly optimistic and positive attitude, especially when it comes to money, you can be on the side of the wealth gap that prospers at all times. And remember that there is always enough wealth to go around, and if you are not getting your fair share you simply need to realign your thoughts and attitudes so that you can let wealth flow into your life.
