Types of Passive Income

There are many types of passive income. Here are some of my personal favorites.

Anyone striving for financial freedom or wealth knows the benefits and rewards that come with developing sources of passive income. Passive income provides the necessary ingredients for building wealth and a financially free lifestyle.

My definition of financial freedom is simple: it is the ability to live the lifestyle you desire without having to work or rely on anyone else for money.

See, that is one huge misconception about financial freedom. Many people think that being financially free means that you have plenty of money, no matter how hard you need to work to earn it.

But if you are working all the time, are you really free at all? Of course not, and that is why real financial freedom is having plenty of money without having to rely on a job or on anyone else.

And how is this possible? Passive income, income that flows to you 24/7 with little or no effort. Anyone who develops streams of passive income will surely enjoy financial success freedom.

There are two basic types of passive income. You can either have your money working for you, or you can set up business ventures that generate income for you without your active participation.

Having your money work for you is one way to go. There are many financial investments that you can use to generate a passive income including stocks, bonds, t-bills, mutual funds, or any other assets that increasing in value and can be liquidated.

These are good ways of developing passive income, except there are a few drawbacks. For starters, financial assets are not always reliable, so some risk may be involved. Secondly, in order to generate a large enough passive income to support your lifestyle, you may need a lot of capital to invest.

The other route to go for developing passive income is to create business ventures that work automatically. Traditional passive income business ventures include owning storage units, vending machines, coin operated machines, and network marketing.

But now with the internet there are many new ways that anyone can develop passive income, and it is more convenient than ever. You can do network affiliate marketing, host a website or blog, set up a e-commerce storefront, publish an ebook, etc.

My favorite passive income source is a website. One website can be used to earn multiple streams of passive income. And because the internet never sleeps, you can literally earn money around the clock.

Anyone can create a website with multiple passive income streams simply and successfully with the Site Build It! website builder. This is how I have built all of my sites. There is nothing technical about using this effective site-builder, and you can try it risk free for 30 days.

Although I am a huge advocate for owning websites as passive income sources, there are plenty of other types of passive income sources that you can use. The key to financial freedom is deciding how much money you need to support the lifestyle that you truly desire to live, and then work at building enough passive income to let you do exactly that.
