What are the risks factors of an entrepreneur? Learn about the most common pitfalls of business entrepreneurs and how to achieve entrepreneurial success.



Is there risk involved for entrepreneurs? Of course there is. The very definition of an entrepreneur is someone who assumes the risk and the rewards of a business venture. They say that without risk there is no reward, an axiom that is especially true in the entrepreneurial field. If there were no risks involved in being an entrepreneur, many more people would start their own businesses rather than staying employed for a lifetime at a job that they hate.

If you read the stories of many high achieving entrepreneurs, you will find that most all of them have courage. Because there are risks factors of an entrepreneur like losing your investment, wasting thousands of hours, and not being able to make a profit, many people sit on the sidelines and never make the transition from wage earning employee to wealth building entrepreneur.

But the risk involved should not stop you dead in your tracks if your goal is to work for yourself. The reward of successful business ownership is well worth any risk, and if you play your cards right you can greatly decrease any risk involved. With a little preparation and planning you can get into business successfully and succeed with all of your goals.

I want to share some tips that will help you start down the entrepreneurial path successfully. These are things that I have learned from some of the wealthiest, most successful entrepreneurs in history, and I am sure you will agree that they really are essential for success. Following them will help you make less mistakes and make more progress toward your business goals.



  • Develop Yourself First
    The inner game of success is as important to entrepreneurs as is any marketing or business strategy. Without the right mindset, success will never be more than just a dream. You must develop a confident, optimistic outlook toward your goals before they will be reached. Reading motivational and personal develop books can be a great way to build your personal power.

  • Choose Your Business Wisely
    Choosing the right business will have a long term effect on the levels of entrepreneurial success that you achieve. Studies have shown that entrepreneurs who have strong passion for their businesses achieve more than those who are not passionate. Choose a business that will engage you and keep your excited and enthused.

  • Set Your Goals Clearly
    If you want to really flop around as a unsuccessful entrepreneur for a while, then you do not need to take the time to clearly define your goals. But if you do not want to waste a bunch of time, then set your goals clearly before you even get started. The more clearly you write out your short and long term goals, the more swiftly you will reach them.

  • Learn From the Best
    Successful people understand that they can greatly enhance their own success by learning from those who have already achieved the goals that they want to achieve. You can either try and figure everything out for yourself, or you can learn what works and what doesn’t and apply that knowledge. The ladder of the two is highly recommended.

  • Remain Focused
    They say that the jack of all trade can do many things, but none of them does he do with any level of expertise. Trying to dabble in a variety of businesses can leave you with a several halfway build businesses. Remain focused on the job at hand and stay focused on a goal until it has been reached.

  • Be Persistent and Committed
    As the great Napoleon Hill once said in his classic ”Think and Grow Rich,” quitters never win and winners never quit. Quitting is instant failure. There are no obstacles that cannot be overcome, but unfortunately many many entrepreneurs quit when they think they are beat. If you never give up you will eventually win.

These tips will help reduce the risks factors of an entrepreneur.

And there is one other tip that is not mentioned, but it is to get started quickly without over-planning. Planning is great but many people plan so long that they never actually get started. As soon as you are as prepared as you need to be to get started, go ahead with it. There is a lot that can only be learned by experience.
