Everyone is always talking about financial freedom. Being financially free is obviously something very desirable, and it is something that we should all be able to enjoy. But as you may be aware, most people go through their entire lives without ever attaining it.
True financial freedom is much more than just having enough money to get by, and it is more than having enough money to support whatever lifestyle you choose. Real financial freedom, the kind that we should all be striving for, is always having plenty of money to support your lifestyle without having to work or rely on someone else for support.

The lifestyle that you choose to live will have a definite impact on your financial planning. While some people are perfectly content with a less expensive lifestyle, others are more accustomed to a lifestyle that requires a much larger flow of money. But whatever lifestyle you desire, you can achieve financial freedom and live the way you want, while still being free from work and other obligations if you choose.
You may be asking yourself how it is possible to live whatever life you choose, always having plenty of money to spend as you wish, while not having to work unless you want to.

Passive income, in my humble opinion, is what financial freedom is all about. Without passive streams of income you will either be working for your income or relying on savings.
If you are having to work hard for your money, you will not really enjoy the freedom that we are all seeking. Working is something that we all must do at some time in our life, but unless you play your cards right, you may be working your entire life.
And other people are a little smarter about their money, and they save money wherever an whenever they can. Saving money is never a bad idea, but it does not necessarily guarantee that you will achieve financial freedom. Most people who rely on savings are on a strict budget, and therefore not really enjoying the lifestyle that they desire.
But this is where passive income allows for true financial freedom, because it allows you to decide how much money you need to live your desired lifestyle without having to work for it. Creating sources of passive income is something that anyone can do, and everyone should be trying to accomplish.
Any income that comes to you without you having to work for it is considered passive income. Investments such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and the like are one way to have your money working for you, therefore creating passive income.
Another route to go, the one that I am huge advocate of, is creating passive income streams through business ventures that do not require your active involvement.
