Does wealth relate to happiness?
Listen up my friends: Money is extremely important in the areas in which it works, and extremely unimportant in the areas in which it doesn’t. And although love may make the world go round, it sure doesn’t pay for the building of any hospitals, churches, or homes. It also doesn’t feed anybody. T. Harv Eker- Secrets of the Millionaire Mind
Money Won't Make You Happy! Have you ever heard this before? Surely we have all heard this statement sometimes throughout our lives, and depending on how much of an impact it had on us, it could be playing a part in our current financial situation. Saying that money doesn't bring happiness is one of the most popular excuses as to why people are not rich. Most people have the desire for more money, wealth, and freedom, but limiting beliefs like you can't buy happiness makes most people detour away from their true desires.
I am not here trying to tell you that money will make you happy, because I know that money alone does not bring people true happiness, but I also know that being broke doesn't either. Happiness comes from within. Truly happy people are at peace whether they have a lot of money or not. But money can greatly enhance the excitement, freedom, and life experience that you enjoy.
Having plenty of money can allow you to be financially free. The definition of financial freedom is when you have plenty of money without the need to work. We all know of people who earn fabulous sums of money and who only work part time or rarely at all. These people are financially free. Being free gives you complete freedom to live life based on what you want and not what you can afford. And it also give you the freedom of being able to work when and if you want, rather than being a slave to your job.
So yes, money can make life more fun. It can also eliminate much worry and stress that stem from financial problems. And it can give you the freedom to live the life that you really want, and not one that you simply feel stuck in. But if you have a negative attitude and look for the worst in everything, then you are most likely unhappy and you will be until your attitude changes. Money will only give you more to worry about. So seek wealth and seek happiness, but realize that you need to develop each one independently of the other.
