Boost AdSense Click Through Rate

Need a major AdSense click through rate boost? Here are some simple ways to increase earnings.

A boost in your AdSense click through rate might be just what you need to kick your earnings into high gear. There are two primary things that will affect your overall AdSense income. The first is the number of page impressions that you get, which is a direct result of your traffic, and also your click through rate, which is the percentage of your sites visitors who actually click on your ads.

If you are not getting at least several thousand page impressions a day, you will most likely want to spend some time marketing and growing your website and increasing your traffic. The more traffic your site gets, the more money it will generate. So even if your traffic is decent, it can always be better.

However, if you are getting plenty of traffic and page views, you can also greatly enhance your earnings by increasing your AdSense click through rate, which tells how well your ads are performing. Low CTR mean that you ads are not getting clicked on by your visitors, and that is not what you want to be happening. Increasing your AdSense click through rate will give you more bang for your buck, and it will allow you to fully maximize the profits that you earn from your visitors.

Many things can affect click through rates. Here are a few of the most effective ways to boost your CTR and your overall Google AdSense earnings...

  • Do not try and make your ads stand out too much. This is often a rookie mistake. You will find that by making your ads blend into your website content, you will generate a higher CTR. Use colors that compliment your site, rather than using off colors to try and make them stand out. If you ads look too much like ads, they may turn people off.

  • Properly keyword your pages and keep then targeted. Google attempts to place the most relevant ads on your site, and they do this based on your pages content. If your content is not focused on a particular subject, the ads that are displayed may not be of much interest for your visitors. When you niche is focused and your pages offer content to a very specific audience, the ads that your site will display will be relevant to your visitors, therefore increasing the likelihood that they are clicked.

  • Ads placed near pictures, videos, and quotes tend to get more attention that randomly placed ads. Whenever possible, try to place your ads near pictures. Pictures and other kid of visual content attracts attention, and the ads near them receive this same benefit.

  • Every site is different, and therefore what works for one will not necessarily work for another. Trial and error is a good idea. Test out different ad formats, colors, and placement. Switch between text ads and banner ads. Keep working with it until you find something that works, and keep in mind that small changes can make a huge difference. On one of my sites I literally doubled my AdSense income simply by changing one color in my ads. Test what works and what doesn’t, and gradually your AdSense click through rate will improve more and more.
