From there you can determine whether or not to bother with that niche. I usually give it the "green light" if any of the sites are PR 0-1. If all of the sites in the top 10 are PR 2 or higher, then I usually just pick a different keyword to go after.

Time to monetize the lens

Now that you have your keywords all picked out, it is time to actually figure out how you will be monetizing your lens. You are going to want to find a great affiliate product to promote for your lens. You should make sure you have accounts setup at the best affiliate networks such as ClickBank, Share-A-Sale, and Linkshare. Now it is simply a matter of checking the networks and seeing which has the best product for you to promote. Make sure that the product is directly related to your lens or else it will never convert well.

Now that you have your affiliate product all picked out, it is time to actually create your Squidoo lens. For SEO purposes, make sure you have your keyword in the Title of the lens, and also make sure to have several associated keywords in the "Added Tags" module. As far as the lens goes, you will want to have at least five modules. For you to be successful, your lens is going to have to have quality content. People will not even get to your affiliate links if you don't even bother to make your content engaging. It is very important that you do not litter your lens with affiliate links. You only need 1 or 2 of them to be effective. If your lens is truly high quality, then the reader will trust you and your recommendations and click on your affiliate link.
