Boost Passive Income - Use Press Releases
Boost Passive Income - Use Press ReleasesBoost Passive Income - Use Press Releases By Steve N Richardson Building constant passive income means thinking about your audience; will they find your story interesting? For example, you just launched a new online store. Announcing your "opening" is exciting to you; however you are writing your press release to attract media outlets and the last thing they want to report about is another online store. Focus on the features of your site, or the innovative product or service you are offering. When doing this, however, avoid exaggerations and amplifications of just what your service or product can do. If your story sounds too good to be true, your audience will be skeptical of your credibility. Get a wider audience by piggybacking and use current news stories to "piggy-back" on. For example, when gas prices were at an all time high, I used a news item entitled "Internet Marketing Offers Relief to Gas Price Gouging". This used a current event to promote the idea of making money online to assist those hurt by the expense of gasoline. This topical press release resulted in more visitors to the site and more sales. Resurrecting lifeless sentences, bring your press release to life:- 1. Write using the active tense of words, rather than a more passive voice.. 2. If you speak with authority it will make your news more influential, and add to your credibility. 3. Make sure to avoid use of unnecessary adjectives or redundant expressions. For example, avoid using phrases that salesmen like to use such as 'added bonuses' or 'first time ever.' 4. When writing your media release, it is best to keep paragraphs short and to the point. The fewer words the better. I recommend keeping your media article around the 350 word range 5. Leave the reader with the feeling that you know more information than is provided in your article. 6. Remember, you are writing a news release not a sales letter. Avoid trying to create hype. 7. In a press release, UPPERCASE LETTERS ARE YOUR ENEMY. Exclamation points are your adversary!!! Bold face type is your foe. Media editors will discard it. Make sure the media and the readers can contact you. Do not, however put your e-mail address into the main body of the release if you are distributing it via the internet. If you do, you run the risk of receiving spam mail. This is because spiders scour the internet gathering e-mail addresses for spammers. Always follow the same basic format. The headline should include your key words and grab the readers' attention. Next is the summary; a two to three sentence synopsis of your article that should also include your key words. Press release blueprint:- 1. Keyword rich headline acts as bait to click on the news release. 2. Keyword rich summary of a few sentences that gives an outline. 3. The body of the article is 300 to 400 words to inform but not bore. 4. Include at least one quote in the main body. 5. Finish with a call to action. There is little point sending out a press release if you don't get them to act, visit your site, blog, or whatever. 6. Last paragraph tells them where the news item is coming from. Who you are, what the company is and why you are an expert on the topic. By following this format you will make your press release more mobile. Let me explain. When media outlets are looking for news, they are looking for something newsworthy, and something that they aren't going to have to edit or change extensively. By focusing on the features of your site and the unusual innovative product or service you will make it more newsworthy for the media outlet.
